Maira is now based in Paris but grew up in the Amazonian rainforest of Peru,

What she says
up with all the nature around me, I constantly draw inspiration from what I felt
– and it’s a lot of texture. There’s a combination of a literal interpretation
of nature as we see it and my own interpretation. I try to combine technology
with savoir-faire. All the fashion I make is trying to search for an
equilibrium between what is hand-made and what is technology-made.”
